On 26 August 1894, Marion Harley Bunn, daughter of Henry Alfred and Margaret (Wilson) Bunn of St Kilda, married Thomas Alexander Ward Smiley, son of Shepherd Parkman and Margaret Phoebe (Ward) Smiley. Walter Harley Bunn, born on 31 May 1863 at St Kilda, Victoria, was the 3rd of the 12 children of Henry Alfred and Margaret (Wilson) Bunn. In his early work life he was a designer. Later he became a railway employee.
On 18 December 1886 he married Louisa Maryann George who was born in 1866, the daughter of Edward and Ellen (Marshall) George. They had 5 children with two dying in infancy.
The family lived in Melbourne at Marlborough Street, St Kilda, North Road, Newport, Douglas Parade, Newport, Hotham Street, Elsternwick and McHenry Street, St Kilda.
Walter Henry Bunn died on 6 August 1923 when aged 60. Louisa remarried (to a Captain Saxby) and died on 25 March 1962 aged about 96.
