Doris Smiley is in the 2nd row, at left, in this picture of Tom and Marion Smiley with family, taken about 1917 - from left, back row, Phillip and Douglas; 2nd row, Doris, Shepherd, Lorna and John (Jack) Smeeton; 3rd row, Jessie, Marion, Jean, Tom; front row, Bertha and Clara. Jack Smeeton and Lorna Smiley were engaged before Jack left for service in World War One.
